How to add a pause in your audiobook

Adding pauses to your audiobook narration can significantly enhance the listening experience, providing dramatic effect, improving pacing, and allowing listeners to absorb key information. This guide will walk you through the simple process of inserting custom-length pauses directly into your text within the NarrationBox editor.

Step-by-Step Guide

From your dashboard, Locate and click on the audiobook project you want to edit to open the editor.

In the editor, find the list of chapters on the left side of the screen and select the one you wish to modify.

Click within the text editor to place your cursor at the exact point where you want the pause to occur.

To insert a pause, type the duration in seconds followed by 's pause', all enclosed in parentheses. For example, to create a two-second pause, type '(2s pause)'. You can specify any duration, such as '(5s pause)' for a five-second break.

You can repeat this process to add multiple pauses throughout your chapter, giving you precise control over the narration's pacing for a more natural and engaging listening experience.
